Brunch, Pooch Parade & Quilt Show

October 30, 2005

In conjunction with the annual Kaleidoscope Festival, the Jerome Humane Society will be holding a brunch event on Sunday, October 30, 2005 at the Honeymoon Cottage in Jerome. Brunch & all other activities will be from 9:00 AM - noon. Tickets are $10, & are available through Nellie Bly or from any Jerome Humane Society member. Because of the limited parking at the site, there will be a free shuttle service from Nellie Bly in downtown Jerome. Marge's cinnamon rolls are not to be missed!

Raffle Scope Each ticket purchsed automatically enters you into a raffle for a beautiful art kaleidoscope titled "Star Explosion II" , courtesy of Nellie Bly. This is a beautiful scope, & well worth the $10 raffle entry, even without the brunch!
"With a signature tapered three mirror system and wonderfully sculptural stand, this impressive kaleidoscope is geared for the collector who appreciates the very best. Cork-coated scope, walnut stand/base and a liquid puck with dichroic glass stationary panels and shimmering jewels in tones of gray, blue, lavender, silver and gold. (Other pucks available on request.)"
(Winner need not be in attendance.)

Your doggie can attend the festivities, too! There will be a Pooch Parade -- dress up your doggie & let him or her strut his stuff. Entry to the Pooch Parade is $5, payable at the event. Contact Leigh at Designs on You (928-634-7879) for additional information.

And if that isn't enough, there will be a beautiful display of quilts made by artists Leigh Hay Martin & Shelly Knapp.

All proceeds from the event go directly to the Jerome Humane Society.

Follow-Up : Spring Flea Market Framed Ron Burns Print

The Raffle drawing was held on June 16, 2005. Karen French of Flagstaff won the framed Ron Burns’ print. Erynn Hopkins of Gilbert won a framed picture of four kittens, an original work donated by local artist Diane Bell. The raffle raised approximately $600 which will be used for operating expenses and the construction fund. Many thanks to all who participated for your generosity!

Follow-Up : Kitten Mania 2005 Clio

The Jerome Humane Society Feral Cat Program in May 2005 was a hugely successful effort. In excess of 40 kittens were caught, treated in the clinic, & all have been placed in wonderful homes. Many thanks to the adoptive families, & especially to those who fostered these darling babies! Many of these little guys needed bottle-feeding & socialization. We are truly grateful to those individuals who gave so generously of their time & effort.

Remember: If you adopted any of these feral kittens, & have not yet had them spayed or neutered, it's about that time! The JHS will pay for spay/neuter of these formerly-feral kittens. Call for an appointment soon: (928)639-1341
